HHD9 – Off-Highway Quarry & Mining Truck
Built by Iveco under the Astra tag, the HHD9 is a reworked heavy heavy duty version of the Iveco road-going range, with options including 8×8 AWD, up to 560Hp, 16 spd auto, up to 40t payload. Priced sharper than ADT’s, with a reportedly much lower operating cost.
Height advantage – often quarrying applications have limitations on head height, for example low hopper loading height or low bridge clearances etc. These trucks can give as much as ½ metre advantage over similar capacity RDT’s.
Size advantage – especially for transportation between sites, depending on the configuration the HD9 can be made road legal to save on transport costs.
Purchase price – competitively priced
TCO – total cost of ownership – components, service items and maintenance are more in line with on-highway configuration
Operator comfort and features – comparable with on-highway trucks
